SOHO Server Solution with MosChip Network Appliance Processors
Powered with Moschip’s Network Appliance Processors and other companion chips, our SOHO solution enables network users to connect to remote USB devices like Printers, Scanners, Digital Cameras and USB Flash drives over the network. SOHO Server application supports both Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks - making it easy to use USB devices from Wired, Wi-Fi Networks.
Small Office Home Office (SOHO) network applications configuration will typically include the disk, file and printer sharing. In addition, it might include Audio/Video, internet access as well. Sharing high-speed internet access will be different from sharing printer and disk resources. The internet configuration will involve connection sharing software or a router in order to merge accessed web page and other information into a combined data stream and then split them for individual SOHO equipments and PCs. The complete process must happen at a low latency line rate, expected rate is Gbe or 100 Mb; 10 Mb may cause pipeline back-up situation. This flow can get complex with the addition of audio/video data stream and security implemented network.
Moschip’s SOHO solutions allows adding storage space on the home or office network via in-built Network Attached Storage (NAS). User can connect any IDE or SATA hard disks through a PCIe/PCI based SATA/IDE controller. Moschip’s SOHO solutions also enables economy storage through USB Host interface of Appliance Processor i.e. any USB Flash / HDD drive connected to the USB Host Ports can act as NAS Drives. These SOHO solutions enable multiple computers to use the USB or SATA drives, Printers and other USB Devices to be available as a “Shared Resource” over the Wired / Wi-Fi Networks.

Current Solution with MCS8140
The MCS8140 based SOHO Server supports USB Cameras, USB Audio, USB printers, Multi-function printers, Scanners, Storage devices, PDAs, Digital Cameras, and all other USB Devices. The SOHO solution supports IDE or SATA hard disks through a PCI based SATA/IDE controller and USB SATA hard disks through USB Host interfaces.
