MCS60C80
The MosChip MCS60C80 chip provides manufacturers with a quality, compliant solution for IEEE1394a/b, iLink, FireWire or USB connectivity in set-top boxes, PVRs, DVCRs, CD-R, DVD-R, Blu-Ray applications, DV and HDV Video Cameras which need to manage content protected media. The device also provides for an efficient, fast, and secure technology to communicate between digital entertainment devices such as AV receivers, HDTV sets and digital recorders. Integrated AES, M6, 5C Key Authentication and proprietary encryption software offers the utmost in media protection.
The MCS60C80 chip is designed to support firmware that implements either AV/C or SBP-2 protocols. The chip solutions support a serial flash memory interface, which allows the user to load custom firmware in the ARM9 embedded processor. This offers greater flexibility in the implementation feature-set, which is employed by the customer application.
The MCS60C80 provides high speed hardware assisted access to industry standard flash device such as the Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Pro-HG, Compact Flash, and Secure Digital devices. With currently available high capacity memory, it is now possible to create a PVR/DVR with no moving parts. This processor also provides for a full PCI interface allowing easy connection to PCI interfaced devices like Ethernet controllers and wireless devices, or it can be used as a high speed data link.
