Digital Signage
Digital Signage with Moschip Network Appliance Processors
Powered with Moschip's Network Appliance Processors and other companion chips, our Digital Signage solution allows the display of advertising or information, from the video output of DS Player onto a large screen display unit for public view. This offers superior return on investment compared to traditional printed signs and improve customer service.
The solution with MCS 8144 will be the first in the series. It can cater to Digital Display applications which support both Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks - making it easy to use as DS Player from Wired, Wi-Fi Networks.
Moschip's goal is to provide performance optimized, cost-effective (affordable) and reliable solutions. With the help of our superior customer/applications support team, we will help you bring your solution to market on time.
The complexity of Digital Signage systems varies and depends on the need. Following are few common elements used in these systems:
- Digital Signage Player
- Display (LCD/Plasma)
- Digital Signage Server / Remote console
- The Network (Wired/Wireless)
Basic Systems Configuration & Support
USB & PCIe Connectivity
- Two High-Speed USB host ports
- Fully complaint to EHCI and OHCI specification
- PCIe Host for Storage addition / WiFi sub-system, through companion chips

Software
 |
Embedded Firmware |
- Linux Kernel 2.6.15 based Embedded RTOS
- Web server for quick configuration and status reporting
- Web Server UI is password protected
 |
Digital Signage Software |
- Linux Based Digital Signage Server.
- Manages Media to be used by Digital Signage player.
- Holds database of play lists to control Advertisements on each DS Player
- Retrieves and processes data feeds for news, announcements, etc
- Holds a mirror of each DS player's content, ready to be synchronized with the remote DS Player Transmits content to DS players via TCP/IP
The Remote Management Console
- Allows the loading of content into the system
- Allows editing of the database
- Edit data about each DS Player
- Edit records for each advert and resources they require
- Edit and assemble play lists of adverts
- Create a queue of updates to be sent to the DS players
DS Player features
- Based on Open Source Universal media player application (M-Player)
- Ability to decompress different compressed video formats like MPEG-4
- Local storage for files downloaded from DS Server through USB HDD or PCIe based SATA/IDE HDD
- Synchronizes the content between DS Player and the DS Server
- Support for connecting LCD / Plasma display, through LVDS FPD Link / RGB / DVI interfaces.
- The DS Player will be always in sync with the DS Server. The player will get the play list and the media files after synchronization with the Server. The player keeps on playing the items in the play list in a round robin way.
