Multi-Format 1394/FireWire Digital A/V Recorder: AVHD
The AVHD Powered by Moschip is a custom digital PVR/DVR solution for consumer electronics (CE) and set-top box (STB) original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). It creates a highly functional yet cost effective means to satisfy the consumer's growing desire for direct-to-disk digital recording of their favorite programs. The advanced proprietary architecture allows OEMs to deliver a high performance product while leveraging commodity-priced ATA hard disks.
The AVHD achieves complete control and security on up to four concurrent high speed isochronous data streams, and provides plug-n-play network attached storage (NAS) functionality for AV data via an industry standard 1394/FireWire AV/C interface. The recent landmark agreement between CE manufacturers and cable TV service providers specifies 1394/FireWire connectivity and content security for the most advanced consumer products: digital televisions (DTV) including high definition digital TVs (HDTV).
